Things You Don’t Need in Belize

Don’t leave your camera, sunscreen and smile when heading to Belize — other things, you can forget.

Let the packing process begin. When travelling, there's always a question of “what to take?, and often times you take too much. With that said, there are lots of checklist with the necessities you should bring along with you but we’ve decided to switch it up; our Belize luxury resort has prepared a short list highlighting the items you don’t need in Belize—save the extra space to take back some souvenirs.

Toss Away the Dictionary

Although Belize is located in Central America and situated amongst Spanish-speaking countries, the official language of Belize is English. So feel free to say hello to the locals and ask questions without getting a puzzled look in response. If you were trying to practice some Spanish, don’t worry, you may do so as Spanish is Belize’s second language and it is widely spoken by the population. Other languages spoken in Belize include Kriol (our dialect), Carib, Maya, Garifuna, German, Hindi, and even Mandarin! Or just keep it simple (and light) and stick with choice No. 1… English!

Exchange Your Money

No need to go through the hassle of exchanging US Dollars (USD) for our Belizean Dollars (BZD) to make payments. The US Dollar is accepted countrywide at an exchange rate of $1US to $2 BZ. Pretty straight-forward!

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem

The main reason why many travelers come to Belize is because they’re looking for some sunshine and warmth. Escape the cold and foggy windows, leave the heavy clothing and hundreds of shoes because all you need in Belize is a relaxed pair of flip flops, tennis shoes for the adventures, and comfortably light clothing.

By the time you return back from your travels, all your stress should have melted away and you’re all set to begin your productiveness with a fresh start.

If you get in trouble for going MIA (oops!), we will take the blame and give you a 100 reasons why you should move to Belize instead.

You Don’t Always Need Company
