The 2025–2026 winter travel season will be one of the most connected in Belize’s history, particularly for Canadian visitors. The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has confirmed that both WestJet and Air Canada are expanding their seasonal service to Belize, opening new possibilities for travelers from Toronto, Calgary, and Montreal. This means it’s never been easier to reach San Ignacio Resort Hotel, your gateway to Belize’s culture, history, and natural beauty.
WestJet will begin service on October 30, 2025, starting earlier than last season, and extend flights through May 10, 2026. The addition of Monday service boosts available seats by an impressive 45% over last year. From Calgary, service starts twice weekly (Thursdays and Saturdays) until December 14, then increases to three times weekly (Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) until April 12, 2026. From Toronto, flights begin twice weekly until November 9, then increase to three weekly until December 14, and peak at four weekly flights (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) during the high season.
Air Canada is adding a historic Montreal to Belize City route starting December 8, 2025, operating twice weekly until March 2, 2026, then resuming from March 9 to April 6. Flights depart Montreal at 5:45 PM and arrive in Belize City at 9:05 PM, perfect for a comfortable evening check-in at your hotel. Air Canada’s Toronto–Belize City route will also run on March 6, March 27, and April 10, 2026.
From Airport to Adventure in a Few Short Hours

Located in San Ignacio Town, our resort offers the perfect mix of luxury and convenience — all just steps away from some of Belize’s most treasured attractions.
With more flight options, you can now arrive in Belize on the day that best fits your schedule, allowing you to maximize your time exploring the Cayo District. Imagine landing in Belize in the afternoon and, by early evening, enjoying a gourmet meal at our Running W Restaurant, or sipping a cocktail on your balcony while listening to the sounds of the jungle.
The expanded schedules also mean greater flexibility for shorter trips or extended stays. Whether you want to visit during the vibrant holiday season, escape the mid-winter chill, or take advantage of Belize’s warm spring weather, these new connections make it easy to plan the perfect getaway.
Explore the Best of Belize from One Perfect Base
San Ignacio Resort Hotel is uniquely positioned for both relaxation and adventure. We’re minutes away from iconic Maya sites like Xunantunich and Cahal Pech, and within reach of Caracol and Tikal in Guatemala. For nature lovers, our on-site Green Iguana Conservation Project is a guest favorite, while nearby adventures include ATM Cave tours, river canoeing, and zip-lining through lush rainforest canopies.
With WestJet and Air Canada’s expanded routes, it’s easier than ever for Canadians to split their time between Belize’s inland wonders and its Caribbean coast. Spend a few days exploring ancient temples and jungle landscapes here in San Ignacio before heading to the islands or Placencia for snorkeling, diving, or simply relaxing on the beach.
Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, noted: “With more frequency and more seats, Belize is becoming even more accessible for winter getaways and extended stays.” For Canadian travelers, this isn’t just about convenience, it’s about opening doors to experiences that were once harder to fit into a tight vacation schedule.
This winter, leave the cold behind and step into a world where history, nature, and luxury meet. San Ignacio Resort Hotel is ready to welcome you with warm hospitality, world-class service, and unforgettable adventures right at your doorstep. With these new flight connections, your Belize dream vacation is just one booking away.
