Early this week the country of Belize welcomed H.E. Wu Den-Yih, Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) on an official visit. Vice President Wu was greeted by the Governor General of Belize, Sir Colville Young and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In reflection of esteemed welcome to Vice President Wu, the Governor General of Belize, Sir Colville Young requested a luncheon in his honor at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel. In preparation for the welcome of such prestigious dignitaries the San Ignacio Resort Hotel once again launched its “Operation Protocol.”
In addition to our usual lavish bouquets, the stair ways and pool area were adorned with bright colored tropical arrangements.
An official welcome banner in red and gold, symbolic of the colors of the flag of China (Taiwan) was received from the office of the Governor General and was draped in our Caracol Room. Accents of red and gold danced on elegant white settings, for a luncheon fit for royalty.
The highlight of the day was for certain, the commendation extended to the San Ignacio Resort Hotel by both esteemed guests of honors as they signed the hotel’s guest book.
An English translation of H.E. Wu Den-Yih’s appraisal reads
“BEAUTIFUL VIEW, GOURMET FOOD, PARADISE”
“AS USUAL, AND ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE WITH GOURMET FOOD IN A GREAT NATURAL SETTING!”

What a joyous feeling it is for all Belizeans to be able to welcome such dignitaries to our jewel Belize, and an expression of patriotism is seen on the smiling faces of all the well groomed officers who served during this event.

This day, 20th August 2012 was certainly a day filled with excitement and honor for the Management and staff of the San Ignacio Resort Hotel.
