This tour of the medicinal plants and herbs is found within our 17-acre private state. The use of plants was utilized by the Maya community because of their ability to heal numerous illnesses and pains, such as stomach aches, fever, chicken pox, botflies, allergies, and many more. The guided tour will take you on our hiking trails through lush tropical rainforests for a hands-on educational tour of natural remedies.

Horseback Riding

This half-day horseback riding tour is available daily and will take you through the jungle and open river valley of Hannah Stables. During this tour, you will explore the unexcavated mounds of Actun Kan, pace through jungle trails, and cross the Mopan River on horseback. This relaxing and exploratory tour is perfect for those who have a soft spot for nature and animals alike.

Black Hole Drop

This tour is not for the fain at heart. Begin with a 2 hour hike up the Maya Mountains for an exciting and thrilling adventure over the rainforest canopy at Actun Loch Tunich, “The Monster of All Caves.” Here, you will be mesmerized by incredible aerial views of jungle rainforests. Then, sink your fears by stepping off the ledge of the cliff for a 300-feet high repelling adventure ride where you will have amazing visuals of the Black Hole and luscious greens.

Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve

This forest reserve is a 300-square mile area where you will find a scenic combination of cool pine forest, tumbling waterfalls, lush river valleys, and numerous cave formations. During this tour you will visit a variety of places including the Rio Frio Cave, Rio on Pools, Big Rock Falls, and the breathtaking Hidden Valley Falls—a narrow chute of water falling over 1,000 feet.

Horseback Riding to Xunantunich Maya Ruin

Explore Cayo along the Western Highway and then continue on through a jungle trail ride where you will witness a variety of flora and fauna. Once you reach San Jose Succotz, you’ll cross the hand cranked ferry and gallop to the breathtaking Xunantunich Maya ruin—where our experienced guide will narrate the history and culture of the ancient Maya. On the way back, finish off your tour with a delicious plate of local cuisine at Benny’s Restaurant.
