And the Winner is…

The San Ignacio Resort Hotel took home the Hospitality Award in August 1st, 2015 at the Belize Tourism Board 13th National Tourism Awards.  This award follows the win of the Hotel of the Year 2012 received by the Resort.  The annual ceremony hosted 57 nominations in several categories, which are as follows:

• Hotel of the Year
• Small Hotel of the Year
• Guesthouse of the Year
• Tour Operator of the Year
• Cruise Tour Operator of the Year 
• Tour Guide of the Year
• Cruise Tour Guide of the Year
• Frontline Person of the Year
• Restaurant of the Year
• Major Festivals and Events
• Hospitality Award

Needless to say the Cayo District received  6 of the 11 honours!

This Hospitality Award is a reflection of our frontline team who interact with guests on a day-to-day basis. Our Resort and team constantly strives to provide unsurpassed levels of luxury and hospitality. Here’s what our Operations Manager, Mrs. Paulita Bedran Figueroa, had to say about our customer-oriented culture:

In addition, Mrs. Mariam B. Roberson, owner and Managing Director of the San Ignacio Resort Hotel was honoured with the Minister’s Award for being an exemplary pioneer for the tourism industry in San Ignacio, Belize. This gratifying triumph recognizes Mrs. Roberson’s commitment to the hospitality industry for the past 37 years.
