LatinOn July 2nd, we were invited by Dr. Isabelle Paquete-Durand to the amazing Belize Wildlife & Referral Clinic, San Ignacio’s best wildlife veterinary, for a one-on-one session about all things reptile—specially the Green Iguana specie.
Several members of our team attended including our Marketing Team, the Iguana caretakers, several from our Maintenance department and even the owner and Managing Director of the Resort, Ms. Mariam Roberson.
The 3-hour session addressed important topics about how to properly care for Green Iguanas, injuries, rehabilitation, proper diet, diseases, housing, and things to look for on a daily basis to ensure our little friends are clean and healthy. There’s always so much to learn about this amazing reptile so this definitely was the perfect opportunity for the team to gain more knowledge about these amazing reptiles.
After a very informative and fun morning, Dr. Isabelle took the team around the Clinic to visit with some of wildlife animals they are currently taking care of. These included Kinkajous (super adorable!), a crocodile, turtles, and a ridiculously tiny bat weighing 1 gram!
What an amazing day! Thank you Belize Wildlife & Referral Clinic for having our team over and providing us with some amazing tips to show some more lovin’ to our Iggies.
