LatinOn March 22nd 2014, the Green Iguana Conservation Project had the opportunity to participate in Sacred Heart College’s Art in the Park day. The collaborative event aimed to educate and provide a fun-filled day of activities for children and teenagers of the San Ignacio area.
The event included donations from local businesses, Belize House of Culture, the local library, and participation of the Conservation Project. Our guide and caretaker, Humberto “Bert” Requeña, provided visitors with knowledge about the Green Iguana species and the hatching, growing, and releasing process undertaken at the Project. Way to go, Bert!
