Our Early Morning Bird watching is back!

As morning slowly approaches in the Macal River Valley, the twitter and sweet sounds of the resort's backyard friends awakens and calls you to join them at 6:30 for spectacular bird watching from the balcony of the dining room. The continuous sightings of over 30 species of birds, has allowed for the re-introduction of our Early Morning Birdwatching. With over 30 species of birds that inhabit the lush vegetation in our 17 acre private estate, this morning retreat alongside hot coffee was thought of as one of the most delightful ways to start your day.

Every morning at 6:30, our well experienced birder, Eddy, will meet you on the balcony of the dining room where you will be engaged in spotting these colorful birds as they start their day by searching for food in the nearby Trumpet Tree (Cecropia peltata). You will have the opportunity to see the Blue Tanager, Blue Crowned Mot Mot, Warblers, Trogons, Flycatcher Hummingbirds, Brown Jays, Wood Peckers and of course, rare sightings of our national bird the Keel-Billed Toucan, and many more.

To participate in the Early Morning Birdwatching, you can contact us at reservations@sanignaciobelize.com or by calling (501) 824-2034/2125. You can also sign up at the Front Desk every evening. A small fee of US$5.50 is appreciated as proceeds go toward our Green Iguana Conservation Project.
